Most of us can’t say we still own and drive our first car. Most of them were old rust buckets that met an untimely demise at the hands of a young and in-experienced Brock wanna-be. It’s for these reasons that I sincerely take my hat of to this gentleman.

Originally purchasing his ’29 Model A on May 16 1929, Frank Hartmaier of Pennsylvania still owns and drives the same vehicle he purchased some 78 years earlier.

In all the time the roadster has spent on the road, it has only suffered three periods of down time due to restorations which is not bad considering the ancient technology the A is built on. Built Ford tough!

Last week we had reported that the Broadmeadows and Geelong production lines had come to a standstill following a clash between parts supplier Venture and their employees.

It’s been three and a half days since the production line was halted, forcing Ford workers to leave the plant without pay until the issue could be resolved. The stop work action has cost Ford an estimated $35million in lost production which many analysts predict could start to cost the automaker sales if not resolved soon.

From the 6th to the 9th of September you will be able to see the biggest names in the business powerslide their way around the entire track in an action packed weekend of pure horsepower.

It’s official. The Fast and the Furious 4 is in production and set to hit our screens sometime in 2009 produced by the same fellow who bought us Tokyo Drift. All I can really hope for, as with many other people, is they lay of the CGI effects and focus more on real driving. Something about cars jumping from roads onto boats and the like really don’t do anything for me.

Details surrounding the fourth instalment of the franchise are currently being kept hush hush, but reports form inside leaks reveal that Vin Diesel is being chased for the return of Dom which once again pits American muscle cars against the like of all things JDM.
